South Korean Franchise BHC Chicken To Expand To Singapore & Malaysia

Written by Amit Sharma, Community Development Manager

Better & Happier Choice (BHC) Chicken, South Korea's second-largest chicken franchise, will soon enter Singapore and Malaysia as part of its strategy to expand into Southeast Asia.

BHC Chicken is a popular Korean fried chicken chain, and its claim to fame is its unique menus, which set it apart from the competition. BHC offers franchises across multiple formats, including a regular-type store, a delivery-oriented brand, and a beer zone-type store that allows both in-store and delivery sales.

The BHC Group will launch its third store overseas in Malaysia next month in a shopping mall in Mont Kiara. Another outlet is slated to open in Singapore soon. The BHC Chicken franchise is also in talks to partner with a retail company to open a BHC chicken restaurant by April next year. The group also operates two BHC Chicken restaurants in Hong Kong.

"With our BHC Chicken taking the lead, our ultimate goal is to promote Korean food and culture globally by bringing our various restaurant brands to other countries," an official from the company said. The BHC Group operates many restaurant brands, including the fried chicken franchise BHC Chicken, Korean barbecue franchise Chango 43 and Outback Steakhouse. The company is also the South Korean operator of San Francisco-based Super Duper burgers, which is set to open its first store in Seoul, Korea, in October.
